193 million accounts were opened in Ukraine by individuals and companies - this is 4% more than last year

The total number of accounts opened by payment service users in Ukraine has increased to 193 million. This is 4% more than the previous year, when there were 185 million such accounts in Ukrainian banks. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine, reports ain.ua.

The vast majority of accounts were opened by individuals — almost 185,7 million accounts. Ukrainian legislation does not restrict users from opening accounts, which is why the number of accounts exceeds the population of Ukraine.

In total, there are 84 million users in Ukraine, both individuals and business entities, who have opened accounts with them. This is almost 2% more than at the beginning of 2024.

In addition, the number of users who are served remotely continues to grow. More than three quarters of all users who have accounts are served remotely:

• 89,85% of business entities (as of the beginning of 2024 — 89,15%)
• 82,87% of individuals (as of the beginning of 2024 — 79,47%)

Currently, there are 63 payment service providers operating in Ukraine: 61 banks and two non-bank payment service providers.
