The annexation of Crimea is a big crime that cannot be forgotten - the representative of the USA in Kyiv
06.08.2021US Chargé d'affaires in Ukraine Kristina Kvin pointed out on August 6 at the Crimean Platform expert network forum that the world should not forget about the Russian annexation of Crimea. According to her, the USA will continue to use the sanctions policy against Russia, reports ru.krymr.com.

"The USA insists that the annexation of Crimea is a big crime that cannot be forgotten. Russia is trying to show that Crimea is part of the Russian Federation. But the USA will never recognize the illegal occupation of the Crimean Peninsula. However, it is not enough to declare it. Violations of human rights in Crimea continue. Those who are guilty of this must be held accountable," said Quinn during her speech.
She assured that the USA will continue to talk about the violations that occur in Crimea and use the sanctions policy against Russia, as well as seek the release of Crimean political prisoners.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously claimed that talk of human rights violations in the annexed Crimea is fiction.
In 2014, the EU and the USA imposed sanctions against Russia for the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea and events in the Donbass. In the Kremlin, the annexation of the Crimean peninsula is called "reunification".
Sergei Lavrov called the practice of imposing sanctions against his country, Russian politicians and companies after the annexation of Crimea "contagious" and blamed the US for it.
On Friday, August 6, the founding forum of the Crimean Platform expert network began in Kyiv. Representatives of embassies, national and international experts take part in it.
The Ukrainian government initiated the creation of an international platform for the deoccupation of Crimea - "Crimean Platform". Its summit is scheduled for August 23.
