Australia sent JDAM-ER aerial bombs to Ukraine
02.11.2024Australia handed Ukraine several Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended-Range (JDAM-ER) cruise bombs. This was immediately after they were withdrawn from the service of the Royal Australian Air Force. It is reported RBC-Ukraine with reference to Australian Defense Magazine.

The Ministry of Defence's Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Plan, released on October 30, revealed that Australia has withdrawn the Australian-made Mk.82 500lb JDAM-ER munition from service.
ADM can now confirm that at least some of these weapons were later transferred to Ukraine as part of Australia's support. However, it is not known when exactly the ammunition was transferred to Ukraine.
The publication noted that the first known use of JDAM-ER in Ukraine took place on the MiG-29 of the Ukrainian Air Force in March 2023, but at that time this weapon was supplied to the United States.
And already in April 2024, Australia confirmed that it supplied unspecified air-to-ground ammunition to Ukraine.
"We were also able to announce today that we have provided high precision air-to-ground munitions to Ukraine," Defense Secretary Richard Marles said.
In July 2024, the Department of Defense announced a further donation of unspecified air-to-ground weapons as part of a $250 million package.
