The context of the war: Sumy region on the frontline
Bilopillia and the entire Sumy region remain one of the hottest spots on the map of Ukraine. The border location makes the region vulnerable to attack, but at the same time strategically important. According to RBC-Ukraine, Russian troops are increasingly using ballistic missiles and drones, trying to sow panic among the civilian population. In response, Ukrainian air defense forces are actively working to intercept enemy targets, although resources remain limited.

Amid these developments, Ukraine continues to strengthen international support. According to UNN, on May 4, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the supply of 3 million artillery shells, as well as negotiations to establish a flight school for F-16 pilots in the Czech Republic. These steps are part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the country's defense capabilities, which has a direct impact on the security of regions such as Sumy region.

Voice of Bilopillia: what's next?
Today, Bilopillya is not just a point on the map of war, but also a symbol of invincibility. Every shelling, every loss only tempers the spirit of local residents, who continue to fight for their right to a peaceful life. However, the situation remains critical. The international community, volunteers, and the Ukrainian diaspora must increase support for border communities to help them survive these dark times.
At the time of writing, there have been no new reports of shelling of Bilopillya, but the threat remains. The city's residents are calling on all concerned to remain vigilant, support the army, and believe in victory.
