Britain will make every effort to return Ukrainian children, says Starmer

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his country would help return the abducted Ukrainian children. He will discuss steps to resolve the problem with French President Emmanuel Macron tomorrow. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with a link to the Telegram channel of the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

Starmer said he plans to meet with the French president tomorrow. He said he and Macron want to discuss further efforts to secure lasting peace in Ukraine.

"I would like to welcome the delegation of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative to the guest podium. The abduction of Ukrainian children is a terrible crime, and the UK will do everything in its power to return them home. This is a stark reminder that any peaceful settlement must include holding Russia accountable for its shameful actions," he stressed.

At the same time, Yermak thanked the British Prime Minister, as well as the British Parliament and people, for their strong words of support and principled position.

"The abduction of Ukrainian children is a war crime. And it is the efforts of partners like the United Kingdom that are bringing closer the moment when every child will return home, and those responsible will be held accountable," the head of the President's Office concluded.

Bring Kids Back UA

Note that Bring Kids Back UA is a Ukrainian humanitarian program that was created at the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in 2023.

The program provides for the reintegration of deported children, their socialization, the development of family forms of upbringing, as well as the recording of crimes and holding the Russian Federation accountable for these crimes, in particular at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

It should be noted that the other day, White House National Security Advisor Mike Walz reported that the US is discussing the possibility of returning deported Ukrainian children as one of the key steps to strengthen trust.

At the same time, Starmer himself stated earlier this month that a just peace must include the return of deported children to Ukraine.
