An F-16 training center will be created for Ukrainian pilots

The fighter coalition will create an F-16 training center for Ukrainian pilots, reports mil.in.ua.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands said that the training center will be created in one of the eastern NATO member states.

The Netherlands is currently working on a plan to train Ukrainians on the F-16 together with Denmark and with the support of the United States.

The Netherlands is responsible for coordinating European efforts in this project.

Belgium, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and industry are also being consulted, with all stakeholders currently working on the content of the training courses.

The plan consists of three points:

to start the first retraining of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 as soon as possible;
language acquisition;
creation of an F-16 training center.

Reuters reported that at the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format, Denmark will offer to start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets already in August.

The proposal will come from Denmark's Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen at a meeting in Brussels on June 15.

It is noted that Denmark, which has flight simulators, has already decided on the terms of training Ukrainian pilots.

Also, during the meeting, "Ramstein" should discuss the training of technical personnel on Western combat aircraft.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said that in the first wave, Ukraine will send its best pilots who have passed a strict selection for training.

It will be recalled that in December of last year, Elbit Systems signed a contract for 36 million dollars for the supply of four fully functional F-16 simulators for Poland.
