In particular, the prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region initiated a number of criminal proceedings on the commission of war crimes committed by the Russian army in the border municipality of the region. For example, prosecutors filed statements in the Unified State Register of Pretrial Investigations on violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, in the village On May 14, a Russian serviceman shot a local 46-year-old resident at point-blank range. It is also known that on May 14, during an armed attack by the occupiers, a civilian disappeared. His whereabouts are still unknown, several versions are considered: illegal deprivation of liberty of a citizen by Russian military personnel or his murder.

The specified war crimes of the Russian occupiers, which are being investigated by the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, are the tip of the iceberg.

Russia deliberately ignores the basic principles of humanitarian law and its obligations in the field of human rights. This, for example, is stated in the regular report of the independent international commission of the United Nations published in March.

The commission found new evidence that the Russian occupiers violated human rights and international humanitarian law, as well as committed war crimes against Ukrainians. They confirm the previous conclusions that the torture of the civilian population by the Russian authorities is "widespread and systematic in nature." Among other things, the report recorded cases of rape and second sexual violence committed against Ukrainians under circumstances that are also equated to torture. Additional evidence of the abduction of Ukrainian children was also found.

But should they be surprised if war criminals were sitting on the same tribune during the parade on Red Square with Putin.

Senior Lieutenant Chalym Chuldum-ool, Major Borys Dudko and Captain Sergey Bacherykov sat behind the dictator. Two of them served in units that the Ukrainian authorities accuse of war crimes. The 55th separate motorized rifle brigade, in which Chuldum-ool served, at the beginning of the full-scale war, kept more than 350 residents of the village of Yagodnoye in the Chernihiv region in the school basement for a whole month, and the military 76th Airborne Division, in which Dudko fought, was among the units, occupied the city of Bucha.

Behind the heads of the heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, the organizers of the parade seated two soldiers from the units that the Ukrainian authorities accuse of war crimes. In particular, Major Artur Orlov commanded the tank battalion of the 90th Guards Tank Division. In the fall of 2022, soldiers from this tank division were accused of gang-raping a pregnant woman who subsequently lost her child. In March 2023, division commander Ramil Ibdatullin was sanctioned by the European Union for the participation of his subordinates in gang rapes, as well as the murder of a Ukrainian man after the gang rape of his wife in front of their child.

All the crimes of the Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine are investigated: the persons involved in their commission are identified, and their actions are given a proper legal assessment.

In particular, on Wednesday, May 15, under the chairmanship of Prosecutor General Andrey Kostin, a meeting of the Coordinating Staff on the interaction of law enforcement and other state bodies during the recording and investigation of war criminals and the conduct of an aggressive war against Ukraine by the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation was held. It was attended by the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and intelligence agencies.

In order to save the local population from Russian shelling and the dangers of occupation, the authorized bodies carry out an organized evacuation from the combat zone. Ukraine will not leave its own citizens as a sacrifice to the Russian invaders.

The authorities call on volunteers who help local residents with evacuation to coordinate their actions with the police and military administration in order to avoid threats to life and health. The defense and liberation of the populated areas of Ukraine from the Russian invaders, first of all, meets the interests of their inhabitants.
