The head of the Church of Hellas will not go to the Synod of Patriarchs in Jordan

The Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop Hieronymus, officially refused the offer of the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilus III to come to the All-Orthodox Synod of Primates in Jordan (Amman) to discuss the "Ukrainian issue".

This was reported by the Greek church agency Romfea.gr.

The Archbishop of Athens rejected the invitation of the Patriarch of Jerusalem to the Council during the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Church of Hellas, which took place from January 8 to 10.

During the meeting of the Synod, the head of the Church of Hellas said that he will not go to the Council of Heads, as he believes that convening such events is the privilege of the Constantinople Patriarch only. Last November, after a meeting with the US ambassador in Athens, Geoffrey Payetta, Archbishop Hieronymus also criticized the Jerusalem Patriarch's initiative.

We will remind you that earlier the Cypriot Primate did not give in to the Russian Orthodox Church's adventure regarding the cathedral in Amman.
