The Ministry of Defense plans to purchase 4,5 million FPV drones from Ukrainian manufacturers during 2025. How much money is planned to be allocated for this?

The Ministry of Defense announced its intentions to purchase FPV drones from Ukrainian manufacturers, writes dev.ua.

"This year, the numbers will be even higher, because the capabilities of the domestic defense industry in 2025 amount to approximately 4,5 million FPV drones. And the Ministry of Defense plans to purchase them all," said Hlib Kanevsky, Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, speaking about the Ministry of Defense's plans for FPV drones.

As an example, he cited figures from past periods, including:

• In 2023, the Ministry of Defense purchased thousands of drones,
• In 2024, the Ministry of Defense, together with the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, purchased over 1,5 million drones.
• 96% of the volumes were purchased from Ukrainian manufacturers and suppliers.

This year, the Ministry of Defense plans to allocate more than UAH 110 billion for the purchase of drones, in particular, more than UAH 102 billion through the Defense Procurement Agency. According to Glib Kanevsky, all procurement plans for 2025 have received budget funds.
