British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during a video conference of the leaders of the G7 countries, called for increased support for Ukraine and greater sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. It is reported European Truth.

As Starmer pointed out, since Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin has not shown that he is ready to make concessions, it is necessary to strengthen support for Ukraine to put the country in the best possible position for the future.

He called on G7 leaders to continue inflicting "maximum pain" on Putin by increasing military support for Ukraine and increasing economic pressure, including by imposing additional sanctions where possible.

During the conversation, the leaders agreed that the unity of the G7 will be crucial in a volatile time in the world and that it is necessary to work together to ensure international stability and security.

It will be recalled that on Wednesday the EU ambassadors agreed on the 15th package of sanctions in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Proposals for a package of 15, prepared for member states by the European Commission, provide for the addition of 29 legal entities and 54 individuals to the sanctions list.

It is expected that companies from China will be present there for the first time — this is a response to information about their support for military production in Russia.

It also talks about new measures to combat the "shadow fleet" of Russia, which it uses to circumvent the price ceiling for oil transported by sea: blacklisting 48 tankers.
