Rheinmetall and Lithuania will create a joint venture for the production of ammunition
31.12.2024The German arms concern Rheinmetall and two Lithuanian state companies have signed an agreement on the creation of a joint venture. They will create 155 mm artillery ammunition. It is reported RBC-Ukraine with reference to LRT.

According to the publication, Rheinmetall signed an agreement with the company of the energy group Epso-G Epso-G Invest and the arms factory in Girayt. Together, they will build a factory for the production of 155 mm artillery ammunition in Baisogal, the preliminary cost of which is 260 million euros.
Rheinmetall will own 51%, Epso-G Invest - 48%, and the arms factory in Girait - 1% of the shares of Rheinmetall Defense Lithuania.
"After signing the agreement, all parties undertook to contribute the expected share to the implementation of the project," noted Epso-G representative Gediminas Petrauskas.

We will remind, at the end of October, the director of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, said that his company opened the first plant in Ukraine. A total of four will be built.
He clarified that ammunition will be manufactured at one of these factories.
