Rheinmetall plans to build an enterprise for the production of air defense systems in Ukraine

The German defense concern Rheinmetall plans to open an enterprise in Ukraine that will specialize in air defense systems. This was stated by the head of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, during the company's general meeting, transfers the German Aid to Ukraine project to X, writes epravda.com.ua.

Currently, the exact date of the start of construction of the joint venture has not been announced. According to the report, it is likely to be at least 1-2 years before production begins.

As Militarny notes, the enterprise will perform, in particular, the functions of a repair base for anti-aircraft systems that Germany transferred to Ukraine, including IRIS-T SL, Skynex 30 and Gepard.
