Sweden will allocate millions of euros in aid to Ukraine

Sweden will allocate financial aid to Ukraine. The money will go to the Grain From Ukraine initiative. About this reported the RBC-Ukraine with reference to Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Twitter (X).

The financial package is SEK 100 million (EUR 8,7 million). The funds are allocated to Grain From Ukraine, which is implemented by the World Food Program. As part of the program, Ukrainian grain and other foodstuffs are exported to the poorest countries.

"Ukraine continues to contribute to global food security, despite the fact that Russia continues its aggressive war," the message reads.

Grain From Ukraine

Humanitarian food program launched by Ukraine in November 2022. As part of the program, funds are collected for the export of grain from Ukraine to the poorest countries in the world.

More than 30 countries and international organizations joined the program.

Yesterday, November 25, the international Grain from Ukraine summit was held in Kyiv, attended by the presidents of Ukraine, Switzerland and Latvia, as well as the prime minister of Lithuania.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that during the first year of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, it was possible to accumulate 180 million dollars.
