US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed during a telephone conversation on the need to continue pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, writes dw.com.

US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed during a telephone conversation on Sunday, March 30, on the need to continue pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Discussing Ukraine, the Prime Minister briefed the President on productive discussions at the 'coalition of the willing' meeting in Paris this week. The leaders agreed on the need to continue to apply collective pressure on Putin. They agreed to remain in touch in the coming days," the British government website said.

Starmer and Trump also reportedly discussed productive talks between their teams on an "economic prosperity deal" between the UK and the US, agreeing that they would continue this week.

Recall, on Sunday, Trump said that he was "very irritated" and "angry" when Putin proposed the introduction of "interim administration" in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations (UN) and a number of countries, adding that these comments "were made in the wrong direction."
