The White House announced the name of the new US special representative for the restoration of Ukraine

Undersecretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma will exercise the powers of the United States Special Representative for Economic Recovery of Ukraine. He will replace Penny Pritzker, who is stepping down. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, writes unian.ua.

According to him, according to the law, the specified position is limited to one year, Tom Pritzker will not be able to hold it: "Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma will continue her work as part of the United States' efforts to support the economic recovery of Ukraine," says the messages

Blinken highlighted Pritzker's numerous achievements, including her advocacy of approximately $9 billion in economic aid to Ukraine; helped launch the Business Advisory Board of the G7+ Interagency Donor Coordination Platform; supported Ukraine's efforts to carry out key economic reforms to catalyze private sector investments; launched the Deal Team defense industrial base.

It is worth noting that Pritzker announced that she was resigning from the post of the US special representative for the economic recovery of Ukraine. She announced that her successor would be Richard Verma.

Ukraine's cooperation with the USA

Ukraine received a $3,9 billion grant from the United States through the World Bank. This is the first tranche of direct budget support from the United States in 2024. In total, Ukraine will receive $7,8 billion in direct budget aid from the United States this year, which will enable it to confidently pass this financial period.
