"We can be proud that the Croatian company DOK-ING is localizing its production in Ukraine and has opened an office here, which shows the seriousness of their intentions to deepen localization. I am especially proud that Ukraine has its own development of machines for humanitarian demining, and there is already the first certified Ukrainian machine," said Svyridenko.
Among the domestic developments, the "Snake" machine was successfully certified. To stimulate domestic production, a program of 15% compensation for the purchase of Ukrainian machinery and equipment was introduced. The principle "Support Ukraine with Ukrainians" has also been implemented - agencies of the UN system will buy equipment in Ukraine.
The government has also approved the procedure for certifying mechanized demining equipment according to international standards, and the first DOK-ING machine has already been certified according to the new MV-4 standard.
According to Svyridenko, support for the Ukrainian manufacturer of humanitarian demining machines has a significant economic effect — 40% of the cost is returned to the state budget in the form of taxes and fees. In the future, it can become a powerful export position.
In addition, in the field of innovation, the first hackathon for innovators in demining was held, field tests of drones with sensors for detecting mines are being carried out. A pilot project using satellite images and artificial intelligence to prioritize demining territories is being implemented in Kharkiv region.
As reported by Ukrinform, in September 2024 the Ukrainian demining machine "Snake" of the Rover Tech company successfully passed tests and received a certificate of conformity. The machine can operate in conditions of low and medium vegetation and is capable of destroying anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, as well as removing stretch marks.
