Ukraine launched serial production of Shahed analogue

Starting in August 2023, Ukraine will mass-produce its long-range kamikaze drones like the Shaheds. Oleksandr Kamyshin, the head of the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, stated this at a press conference, he writes tsn.ua.

The record range of the combat sortie is 1000+ km. According to him, the development of this drone began in 2016, but for some reason it was not produced.

"We started production in a series. Now we produce dozens of them. Next year, the Armed Forces can receive more than a thousand such drones that fly 1000+ kilometers," the minister assured.

Kamyshin clarified that it is about analogues of "Shakhed-131" and "Shakhed-136".

"We have more than five analogues of Shahed-131, which are mass-produced. And there is one type, an analogue of "Shakhed-136", the minister added.

He also confirmed President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's promise that the Defense Ministry may produce a million FPV drones next year.

As a reminder, in December 2022, Ukroboronprom announced the transition to the final stage of tests of the Ukrainian attack drone with a range of 1000 km and the ability to carry up to 75 kg of explosives.
