Ukrainian banks paid 1,8 times more income tax than last year

At the same time, financial institutions paid up to UAH 25,83 billion in income tax this year — 1,8 times more than in 2023. Despite the tax increase, net income still grew by 13%.

A total of 62 banks operate in Ukraine. Eight of them suffered losses in 2024.
State banks
The 10 largest banks of Ukraine account for 86% of the total profit: UAH 80,13 billion.
At the same time, state banks account for 63% of the total profit of all banks.
PrivatBank leads the group with 40% of the profit of all banks. After taxation, the financial institution received UAH 37,16 billion. Tax expenses have increased by 1,5 times compared to last year.
Banks with foreign capital
Group leader Raiffeisen Bank received UAH 4,87 billion, and its tax expenses doubled to UAH 1,63 billion.
Banks with foreign capital account for 23% of the total profit of all banks.
Banks with private capital
The aggregate profit of banks with private capital increased by 29% to UAH 13,39 billion. Taxes doubled: up to UAH 3,95 billion.
The leader of the group is FUIB — UAH 4,24 billion. MTB bank showed the biggest increase among all the country's banks: as much as 13 times, up to UAH 539,8 million.
