Ukrainian drone manufacturers have become the second largest number of applications for the Drone Coalition tender from Great Britain

In September, Ukrainian manufacturers were admitted to international tenders of the Drone Coalition for the first time. Acceptance of applications for the production of advanced FPV drones in the second round of tenders announced by the UK closed last week. Of all the participants, Ukraine is in second place in terms of the number of applications, he writes dev.ua.

International tenders of the Drone Coalition consist of two lots: for the production of advanced FPV drones with autonomous functions and stable communication and interceptor drones. Applications for FPV closed on October 14, but the collection of proposals for the creation of interceptor drones is still ongoing. You can apply on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain until November 11.

26% of submitted proposals for advanced FPV drones come from Ukrainian companies, the Ministry of Defense reported.

Compared to the first series of tenders, this time there were fewer applications. At the same time, the quality of the proposed solutions is much higher. This is due to a change in the approach to the tender.

User scenarios have also been added to the description of technical requirements, which outline the problem that needs to be solved technologically.

"It is this approach that prompts the search for the best, and the tender, in this sense, becomes an incubator for new technologies," the Ministry of Defense noted.

The Drone Coalition was created in February 2024, during the 19th Rammstein Meeting. It includes 16 partner countries that already supply Ukraine with drones. It is expected that another 71 to 20 drones will be purchased and delivered with the funds already accumulated by the Coalition for joint procurement (€000 million).
