Ukrtruboizol launched the production of pipes for water supply systems for UAH 150 million

The Ukrtruboizol enterprise in the Dnipropetrovsk region has launched the production of plastic pipes for main water mains and heating networks of housing and communal services, writes inventure.com.ua.

As Dmytro Kysylevsky, People's Deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, said, Ukrtruboizol is the largest manufacturer in Ukraine of large-diameter (426-1422 mm) electric-welded steel straight-seam pipes, anti-corrosion external and internal coatings.

It is reported that the design capacity of the workshop provides for the production of polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 1200 mm with a volume of up to 3,5 km per month, as well as pre-insulated pipes with a diameter of 133 mm with a volume of 12 km per month. The workshop will employ 30 workers.

The volume of investments in the project is over UAH 150 million, including a 1,3 MW solar power plant, which provides the new workshop with electricity.

The project to create a new Ukrtruboizol workshop was partially financed by the state affordable loan program "5-7-9".

Dmytro Kysylevskyi emphasized that currently only a few enterprises produce large-diameter pipes in Ukraine, and public procurement accounts for a significant part of the market. Therefore, it is important for Ukraine to protect manufacturers from subsidized imports from China, Turkey, and other countries.
