Livestock production will increase in Ukraine: what indicators can it reach?

In 2025, livestock production in Ukraine will increase by 1,5% compared to the previous year, to UAH 216,6 billion. This is stated in the forecast from scientists at the Institute of Agrarian Economics, writes epravda.com.ua.

It is forecasted that livestock and poultry production will increase by 3,1%, in particular, due to an increase in pig and poultry production.

According to the forecast, poultry production will increase by 2020% compared to 6,2, while exceeding the result of 2024 by 5,5% due to an increase in livestock in all categories of farms by 1%.

Pork production volumes will increase by 2024% compared to 4,6 due to increased sales of live weight products.

At the same time, as scientists predict, a significant decrease in cattle meat production (-4,3%) is expected due to a 12,3% reduction in the number of cattle (excluding cows).

Also, due to the reduction in the number of sheep and goats (-6,8%), a decline in the production of meat from these animals (-8,3%) is predicted.

Milk production volumes will remain almost at the 2024 level (-0,5%), although the number of cows will continue to decrease (-6%).

Egg production will be 0,9% more than last year.
