The European Commission has suspended financial aid to Palestine because of the Hamas attack on Israel
10.10.2023The European Commission has decided to suspend the financing of projects for Palestine due to the attack of Hamas terrorists on Israel. This was reported by the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Expansion Oliver Vargei in his X, writes liga.net.

"The scale of terror and cruelty against Israel and its people is a turning point. It cannot be business as usual here. As the largest donor to the Palestinians, the European Commission is reviewing its entire portfolio of development projects totaling 691 million euros," he wrote.
According to him, the European Commission has decided to immediately suspend all payments under existing projects for Palestine, as well as to review all projects.
Vargei also noted that all new proposals for funding for the residents of Palestine for 2023 will be delayed until "further notice".
"The foundations of peace, tolerance and coexistence need immediate solutions. Incitement to hatred, violence and the glorification of terror have poisoned the minds of too many people. We need action and we need it now," added Vargei.
