Against whom sanctions will be imposed
Sanctions will affect representatives of the judicial system of the Russian Federation. They will be banned from entering the EU and doing business with Europeans, and their accounts and other assets will be frozen.
The specific names of those who have been sanctioned will be published in the EU Official Journal in the coming days. The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, also approved the renaming of the EU sanctions instrument for human rights violations in honor of Navalny.
Death of Navalny
We will remind, on February 16, 47-year-old Russian opposition leader Oleksiy Navalny fainted during a walk in the arctic colony "Polar Wolf", where he was serving a three-year prison term.
Later, the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District announced that the politician had died.
RosZMI called the detachment of a thrombus the probable cause. This version was confirmed by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reacting to the death of Navalny, emphasized that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin led to this.
Former US President Donald Trump believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is "probably involved" in the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
