In six months, Ukraine exported over 400 thousand tons of sugar: the largest buyers

Ukraine exported over 6 thousand tons of sugar in the first 2024 months of the 25/2024 marketing year (from September 2025 to February 403,5). This was reported by the National Association of Sugar Producers "Ukrtsukor", writes epravda.com.ua.

It is noted that 98,4% of the volume was directed to the world market, 1,6% to EU countries.

Exports to the EU resumed in February and amounted to 6 tons. The main EU countries where Ukrainian sugar went were Bulgaria (559% of the exported volume), Greece (72%), and Italy (12%).

In general, the main directions of Ukrainian sugar exports in the first 6 months of 2024/25MY remain:
— Turkey (18% of total exports);
— Libya;
— North Macedonia;
— Somalia;
— Sri Lanka.

According to the association, Ukrainian sugar producers produced 2024 million tons of sugar in the 1,8 production season. The volume of the domestic market in Ukraine is currently estimated at 900 thousand tons per year.
