Zelensky arrived in Romania. Will discuss air defense enhancement and security architecture

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in Romania on an official visit, during which he will discuss with his colleague Klaus Iohannis the security cooperation between the countries, including the strengthening of air defense and the security situation in the Black Sea region. About this reported the RBC-Ukraine with a link to the Telegram of the head of the Ukrainian state.

"Bucharest, Romania. An official visit to our good neighbors, who supported us in the most difficult moment and whose support only grows over time," said the Ukrainian president.

Zelensky noted that he would be glad to see his Romanian colleague Klaus Iohannis, with whom he has "a wide range of topics for negotiations."

What topics will be discussed

As the President of Ukraine said, he will discuss in Romania today

• further security interaction,
• development of aviation and other defense coalitions,
• strengthening air defense,
• as well as the issue of "the overall security architecture in the Black Sea region and relations with our partners."

"This visit will benefit both our peoples," Zelensky emphasized.

Zelenskyi also thanked Romania for its support to Ukraine.

"First of all, Ukraine is grateful to Romania for its sincere and large-scale assistance, which significantly strengthens our defense. And also — for the most constructive solidarity, which enables our countries together to be important donors of security for the world, in particular food security. We have already established cooperation that supports the stability of many other nations, and we can further expand it," Zelenskyy said.

What preceded

It will be recalled that on October 6, the Romanian publication Digi24 reported for the first time that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will visit Romania this week.

Before that, on October 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Granada, Spain, where a two-day summit was held at two levels with the participation of 47 European states representing the "European Political Community".

The head of state in Italy managed to hold negotiations with his colleagues. In particular, he agreed on the supply of air defense to Ukraine.

There were also reports earlier that the President of Ukraine plans to visit Portugal. And Kyiv and Lisbon allegedly agreed on the date of the visit.
